Dr. Al-Bashir is the General and Breast Surgery Consultant at Levantine Medical Center, Al-Ain, as well as a visiting surgeon at Ain Al-Khaleej and Burjeel Royals Hospitals. He is also an Associate Professor of Surgery at the College of Medicine & Health Sciences, UAE University. In addition to the aforementioned, Dr. Al-Bashir is also a co-founder and former Director of the Breast Care Center and the General Surgery Residency Program at Tawam Hospital.
In 2014 he led the Breast Care Center at Tawam to be the first international NAPBC-accredited Center. He was the Site-Director of the General Surgery Residency Program at Jersey City Medical Center in New Jersey and an Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
He obtained his medical degree from Down State Medical School (Brooklyn, New York) in 1996 and completed his General Surgery Residency Program Training at the same institution in 2001.
Dr. Al-Bashir was certified by the American Board of Surgery in 2002 and later recertified in 2011. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Al-Bashir was the recipient of outstanding awards, which include: Jonas E. Salk Award & Scholarship (1992), Chandler Mc Cuskey Brooks Annual Award in Physiology (1992-1993), Thomas W. Pollock Award (2001), Teacher of the Year Chief Resident Award (2001). He was also chosen as one of the top surgeons by the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Tawam Hospital in 2010. He received the exemplary contribution award by the Department of Surgery at Tawam Hospital in 2011. He has many publications and has done presentations at many national and international conferences.
Dr. Al-Bashir also has organized many scientific conferences and meetings.
